Wilderness
I loved you with the heat of a million suns And you burned them out slowly one by one You could not see the Forrest from the trees And wrapped my soul in iron chains And brought me to my knees And like the leaves that hide from the frost I am the lone lioness - hungry, weak and lost I am haunted and hunted by dreams past And though this burden I long to shed - instead like a shadow I cannot cast I plod on slowly, unsteadily and unsure This cold and long winter I cannot but endure
